Just Grow

The thing about beauty, is that it just is. There are no words to describe what makes something pleasing to the eye. It mesmerizes, leaves one breathless and captivated in sheer awe.

Vienna’s Volksgarten is certainly a haven of beauty. Its rose garden serves as a respite for weary pedestrians looking for inspiration and probably silence. Benches give beaten up legs some much-needed rest, while the blossoming rose garden soothes tired eyes. The sound of rippling fountains whisks your worries away, albeit for a couple of minutes. And sometimes, a violin playing in the background is a welcome melody.

The flowers in this public park found in the Innere Stadt – first district of Vienna greet the day with their beauty. As they bloom next to other flowers, they graciously appreciate each other’s beauty and go on with their day. Each flower doesn’t think about standing out above the rest. It simply grows and develops to reach its full potential.

Budding roses strewn around the park stand witness to a promising romance. The sound of two hearts beating as one reverberates through the colorful blooms. A yellow rose screams with delight at the potential for long-lasting love.

For broken hearts, these flowers offer refuge. A purple rose is testament to one’s pain, but even in that pain, there is beauty. When all hope is seemingly lost, this beauty reassures one that life has still much to offer. Better days are waiting around the bend.

Roses are red, violets are blue. But roses give a whole new meaning to life too.
