Heart ring, union jack
Today, our door bell rung three times. Each time a package was delivered. First were the shoes I ordered online, second was the LCD TV hubby bought and last were the Michael Kors jewelery I’ve been waiting for. ^_^ Happy!
I didn’t open the shoe box immediately because I was still too sleepy (delivery guy came around 7:20!). I opened the small package with jewelery in it first! There’s the earring and bracelet I bought but I was surprised to see this heart-shaped union jack ring too! It was a thank you gift of sorts. Sweet!
The Union Jack is a “symbol of inclusivity and diversity” says Nick Groom, the leading expert on the flag. We can see the use of it in the fashion department through the years starting when Spice Girl’s Geri Halliwell donned the Union Jack Dress at the 1997 BRIT Awards. Today, it is sported in shirts, messenger bags, Doc Martens, Swarovski studded clutch bags (of blue, white and red), pendants and of course other accessories. Suffice to say, it is indeed the most fashionable flag in the world! And I’m sure some of my Anglophile friends would be happy to have this ring like I did. ^_^

I am putting this under Photomacrography although it really isn’t greater than life size. I took the photo at night so I don’t have natural light when I did. I will not include the settings for this photo yet. I will definitely take another shot tomorrow, in the morning to show some details on it. Photomacrography or Macrophotography is one of my favorites. I used to follow them bumble bees and ladybugs around to get a clear shot of their bums! And back then I was using my ever reliable Sony DSCF717…now, I use a reversed lens at times…
Here, I actually used a 55mm lens when I have intended to use the 50mm…I forgot to change lens. Lighting is big factor when doing Macrophotography so tomorrow morning would be best to shoot.
